Manchester United (+147) vs Everton (+199)

Total: Over 2.5 (-128) Under 2.5 (+113)

Manchester United hits the road for a Saturday lunchtime matchup (7:30 am ET) against Everton and neither side is playing well at all. United lost to Istanbul Basaksehir 2-1 in the Champions League and Everton suffered a Matchday Seven loss to Newcastle.

United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is on the hot seat for not only the Wednesday loss in Turkey but for a disappointing season thus far that has United sitting fifteenth in the table.

Everton was off to a fast start but their recent form hardly resembles the red hot start the Everton side were off to and now reside fourth in the table.

Matchday 8 EPL Pick: Manchester United to Win

Gary’s Matchday 8 EPL and Bundesliga Picks

Everton is winless in three Premier League games, losing their last two, but will welcome a return to Goodison Park, where they are unbeaten this season.

United’s league campaign has yet to get going after six games and although they have won both away league matches this season, fatigue from the midweek trip to Turkey for Champions League action could be a big factor in this lunchtime kick-off.

Manchester United hit a new low with their Champions League defeat by Istanbul Basaksehir, while Everton will have some star players returning who can help get them out of their rut. Both sides have lost their last two games, but we are backing the Toffees to come away with the three points.

Leeds came into the game off the back of a rather surprising 4-1 defeat from the hands of Leicester, a game that they may have not necessarily been expected to win, but not many would have predicted a loss in such fashion.

Palace also came into the game off the back of a defeat, a 2-0 loss against Wolves, which was a bad day at the office on all fronts with Milivojevic seeing red minutes before full-time. Both sides will want to rectify their mistakes from the previous games, but it seems more likely that it will be Leeds who will be the ones who succeed.

Patrick Bamford, already on six goals, failed to net against Leicester and will be hungry to continue adding to his tally and with Leeds averaging 1.9 goals per game, expect goals.

While Palace is not exactly renowned for being involved in high-scoring games, this one has the potential to be quite open so expect goals at both ends.

This is an early test of Wolves’ ability to cope with extra demands this season, as, just three days after a Europa League win in Armenia, they travel to one of the teams aiming to finish seventh or higher.

Wolves should be match sharp, at least, so Leicester will have to get up to speed quickly – especially Caglar Soyuncu, the defender likely to be filling the gap left by Harry Maguire.

Jamie Vardy on fire at the moment and has really found his form again scoring frequently and assisting teammates, showing he is not just a striker but also a provider, a good trait to have when challenging for titles.

Manchester City will look to continue their recent good form against Liverpool as the Premier League title favorites clash at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

The Citizens are five points behind the defending champions but do have a game in hand and three points here would give the title race an early shake-up.

Liverpool is top with 16 points from their opening seven games but could find it difficult to make it six wins in a row in all competitions against a confident City side.

Manchester City is unbeaten against Liverpool at home since 2015 and the Etihad has been a favorable place when facing their title rivals. City won the corresponding game last season 4-0, although Liverpool had already wrapped up the title, but will be confident they can get a result again. Liverpool has not looked as formidable this term and we’re backing City to claim the points.

Augsburg’s 3-1 win last weekend gave them their third victory of the Bundesliga campaign and a ninth straight match in all competitions in which the HT result was replicated at FT. However, their record against Hertha Berlin since the beginning of 2015 won’t fill them with confidence going into this clash.
The hosts will now look to secure back-to-back Bundesliga home wins for the first time this year, and win two consecutive home H2Hs versus Hertha for the first time ever. However, with no goals scored or conceded within the opening 30 minutes at home this Bundesliga campaign, Augsburg may take a while to get going in their hunt for another victory.

Augsburg ended their three-game winless run last weekend, winger Andre Hahn scoring a brace in the final 10 minutes of the match.

That win has moved Heiko Herrlich‘s side up to sixth place in the Bundesliga after an impressive start to their 2020-21 campaign.

Die Fuggerstadter has taken 10 points from their first six matches, which is their second-best points total at this stage of a Bundesliga season – after taking 11 points in 2017-18. They have also scored nine goals so far, a tally they have only bettered in the 2018-19 campaign when they scored 11 league goals.

Augsburg, who have won only once in the last 11 meetings with Hertha Berlin, go into this fixture in better form than their opponents and know that a victory on Saturday could see them move into the top four.

Bayer Leverkusen continues to register impressive results, with their 4-2 comeback win in the UEFA Europa League last time out tying in nicely with their unbeaten start to the Bundesliga campaign. That six-game unbeaten top-flight start is something they haven’t managed in any of the previous ten seasons, and a lot of that has to do with their solid defense, as only once since 2000/01 have they conceded fewer goals at this stage.
All three of Leverkusen’s competitive home games have seen the same result at half time as full time – despite both teams scoring in all three and the last two featuring over 2.5 second-half goals – so what happens early on could decide the fate of this match. That appears especially true considering the last seven H2Hs at all venues saw the team that scored first go on to win.
Borussia Mönchengladbach travels here in good attacking form, with their 6-0 thrashing of Shakhtar Donetsk in the UEFA Champions League in midweek equaling the club’s previous European away win record that was set back in 1970. That victory also extended their unbeaten run to eight games, seven of which saw Gladbach score first.

Eric’s Picks November 7-9, 2020

Eric’s EPL Picks

Saturday 11/7/20

(4)Everton(+199) vs (15)Manchester United(+148) OV 2.5(-127) UN 2.5(+112) Draw +258 7:30 am

United travel to Goodison Park in what could be a nail in the coffin match for OGS. Following losses to Arsenal and to Istanbul in CL play, OGS needs his boys to rally and take full points on the road. United have not had a start to the season (15th place) this bad since 1986-87. United’s home form has been shockingly bad however their away form includes 6 consecutive wins.

Everton started the season flying however of recent have been slumping and Ancelotti is looking for answers. Everton started with 8 successive wins across all competitions now winless in the last 3 with B2B defeats to Southampton and Newcastle. Everton has also gone 8 games without a clean sheet.

James Rodriguez’s availability is still questionable.

United have beaten Everton 36 times in previous EPL matches 16 of which have come at Goodison Park. United must feel good about their chances to rebound here.

Eric’s EPL Picks – United to win(+148), Take the over(-127), Both teams to score(+157)

(13)Crystal Palace(+195) vs (12)Leeds(+145) OV 2.5(-150) Draw +230 10:00 am

Both sides will be looking to return to the win column when Leeds visit Selhurst Park.

Palace’s form has not been great and has not won a match since beating United opening week with the most recent loss 2-0 away at Wolves.

Leeds were no match for Leicester in their 1-4 defeat on Monday.

Palace’s Zaha is off to a good start with 5 goals and an assist thus far however they have only been able to manage 3 additional goals this campaign.

Milivojevic will not be available for hosts as he serves a suspension from the match vs Wolves.

Leeds is a very much attacking side and always on the front foot. They have more tackles (143) than any other team in PL. They play with a ton of energy.

Eric’s EPL pick – Take Leeds to win(+145)

Sunday 11/8/20

(2)Leicester(+145) vs (6)Wolves(+230) OV 2(-125) UN 2(+110) Draw +227 9:00 am

King Power Stadium will be the site for certainly one of these weekend more competitive matches. Separated by 4 places and only 2 points in the table Leicester will look to continue its pursuit of solidifying a UCL spot that they narrowly missed out on in 2020. Wolves on the other hand could very well find themselves in the top 4 conversations after this weekend.

Leicester have been flying with Europa win and league wins vs Arsenal 1-0 and then Leeds 4-1. Leicester however has lost 3 of the last 4 PL home matches failing to score in these losses.

Wolves currently enjoying a 4-game unbeaten run with a recent win vs Palace. Their other wins 1-0 vs Fulham was not convincing yet their win vs Leeds 1-0 at the time seemed convincing Leeds however of late not that same side.

18 of the last 21 matches played by Wolves have yielded under 2.5 goals.

Leicester without Soyuncu, Amartey, Ndidi, Pereira, and Castagne. However, have a fully healthy Jamie Vardy.

Wolves will be without fullback Jonny and Marcal.

Eric’s EPL pick – Leicester to win(+145)

(10)Man City(+102) vs (1)Liverpool(+250) OV 3(-140) UN 3(+125) Draw +320 11:30 am

This match is must-watch TV! Both teams coming off comfortable wins and have perfect starts in the UCL competition.

League form however is another story. Liverpool sitting in 1st one point clear at the top while City is in 10th on 11 points. 5 points separate the two sides with City having played one fewer match.

Aguero out due to injury however Jesus returns for City.

These 2 sides have prolific scoring front lines and should make for an exciting high scoring match.

Liverpool with the incredible strike power they have with Salah, Firmino, and Mane is only further strengthened by recently signed Diogo Jota who is flying high coming off a hat trick vs Atalanta and has now scored 7 goals for his club.

Defensively however Liverpool has not been great with only one clean sheet.

City’s defense has however stiffened following the 5-2 beating they took off Leicester earlier in the season. Conceding only 3 goals in 8 games since Vardy’s hat trick.

Liverpool missing – Alcantara, van Dijk, Fabinho

City missing – Aguero, Mendy, Fernandhino

Eric’s EPL Picks – Take the draw at +320, the over 3 at -140, BTTS +175

Eric’s Bundesliga Picks

Saturday 11/7/20

(6) Augsburg(+191) vs (14) Hertha(+145) OV 2.5(+116) UN 2.5(-131) Draw +262  9:30 am

Hertha has lost 4 of the last 5 league matches and has yet to find their form. Hertha has had their struggles in the back thus far.

Augsburg seeking back to back wins coming off the defeat of Mainz 3-1 and will be seeking their 3rd home win of the campaign.

There have been 8 draws in the last 16 league matches between these two sides.

H2H in recent years Hertha has a slight advantage with 2 wins and a draw in the last 4 matches.

Eric’s Picks – Take Augsburg to win(+191) and the over 2.5(+116)

Sunday 11/8/20

(11)Wolfsburg(+118) vs (12)Hoffenheim(+237) OV 3(+102) UN 3(-117) Draw +276 9:30 am

Only 3 wins in 12 total matches combined thus far have these squads sitting 11th and 12th in the table with merely a point separating the two. The good news is with even this poor start they are only 3-4 points out of a European spot.

Wolfsburg struggling to score with only 5 goals in 6 matches. This combined with only allowing 4 goals has yielded 5 draws.

Hoffenheim has recorded 10 goals in league play to date – prolific in comparison to Wolfsburg, however, Hoffenheim’s leaky defense has also allowed 10 goals.

Hoffenheim is missing a slew of important players most importantly Kramaric.

Wolfsburg’s Weghorst will be eager to return to scoring and may pose too much of a threat in front of Hoffenheim’s goal.

Eric’s pick – Take Wolfsburg to win at home(+118)

(4)Leverkusen(+144) vs (5)Gladbach(+194) OV 3(+113) UN 3(-128) Draw +267  12:00 pm

Bundesliga match of the weekend perhaps!!! Certainly, right up there with the Dortmund Bayern matchup. With just one point and a GD of 4 separating these squads presently sitting 4th and 5th in the table respectively this one should be a high-flying exciting match filled with goals.

Gladbach narrowly edged Leverkusen out of UCL contention at the very end of the 2020 campaign and Leverkusen will be seeking revenge!

Both teams coming off high scoring wins in European competition earlier in the week tallying 10 goals and allowing only 2 combined.

Leverkusen drew their 3 opening matches to start the campaign however have won 3 straight propelling them into the 4th spot.

Gladbach too is in excellent form winning 3 of the last 4 league matches including a 1-0 win over Leipzig.

Eric’s picks – Take the draw at (+267) and the over 3 at (+113), BTTS (+157)
