Covid-19 is rearing its ugly head and the Ottawa Senators have postponed three games as half of their team has tested positive for the virus. It’s imperative that you check out the team’s injury report for yourself before placing a wager. We use the pages of NBC Sports Edge and we believe you will find this site useful and extremely accurate.
Phil has written three sports betting-related books that he knows will help you become better at betting on Baseball, Daily Fantasy Baseball, and NFL and NCAAF football games. Visit his Amazon author page and Cash with the Flash!
Cash with Flash was 1-3-0 on Wednesday. We took Thursday off as we didn’t like any of the games and we’re hoping for better things tonight.
Free NBA Pick
We’re limping along with a 32-39-0 record with three plus-money underdogs. We missed with the Rockets Wednesday night but the premium Nets -9.5 pick we sent to subscribers did hit.
Orlando Magic vs Brooklyn Nets
Brooklyn is a thirteen-point home favorite when they host Orlando tonight at 7:30pm. The Magic are 3-5 as the away team and the Nets are 5-3 at Barclays Center this season.
Orlando is coming off a Wednesday night straight-up road win over the New York Knicks and hasn’t been as bad as their 4-11 record suggests that they are. The Magic are bottom thirty in points scored & allowed and shoot the seventh most triples in the league this season. The problem with the triples is that they are twenty-fourth in making the three-pointer. Orlando is twenty-second in total rebounds per contest and twenty-sixth this season in turnovers.
Brooklyn took out Cleveland at home for their fourth win in five games and is top fifteen in scoring and points allowed. The Nets shoot the nineteenth most triples but are first in the Association in knocking them down. Brooklyn is third in both true shooting and effective field goal percentage. The Nets are 5-0 ATS over their last five as favorites of eleven points or more.
We like the Nets in this one. They are clearly the better side on both ends of the floor and like we mentioned previously Brooklyn is very good at covering large spreads. They have more depth and far and away the better of the two rebounding on the defensive end of the floor. Consider laying the thirteen points and also consider playing Brooklyn UNDER 214 points tonight.
Cash with Flash Friday NBA Pick: Brooklyn -13 points Brooklyn UNDER 214 points
Free NHL Pick
We’re 0-4-0 with our NHL picks this season and missed Wednesday’s Vancouver Canucks +130 pick. We are going to continue chasing plus money underdogs but tonight we’re looking at a short dawg.
Winnipeg Jets vs Vancouver Canucks
The Jets just saw a three-game winning streak halted when they suffered a shootout loss to the Edmonton Oilers. Vancouver has struggled this season and is looking to snap a five-game losing streak tonight.
Winnipeg is tenth in scoring and eighth in goals against with an eleventh-ranked power play and second from last in killing their own penalties. Luckily for them that they are the tenth least penalized NHL side otherwise they would be in big trouble. Backup goaltender Eric Comrie is expected to tend to the twine and is 3-1-0 with a 1.98 GAA and has turned back 92 percent of the pucks fired his way.
Vancouver is twenty-seventh in goals scored and against with an identical ranking in power play goals. The penalty kill unit is dead last and the Canucks are twenty-seventh in the league at committing penalties which explains their 5-10-2 record this season. Thatcher Demko is expected to guard the cage and he’s 5-7-1 with a 3.31 GAA along with an 89 percent save percentage.
We like Winnipeg in this one. They do one thing better than Vancouver and that’s lighting the lamp and we expect that trend to continue tonight. They also are fundamentally better than Vancouver in nearly all of the counting stats and Comrie has been better than expected. Winnipeg is 8-0-0 over their last eight meetings in Vancouver. Consider the Winnipeg Jets tonight.
Cash with Flash Friday NHL Pick: Winnipeg Jets -105
Free College Basketball Pick
A 7-10-1 non-conference record thus far has been disappointing but we hit last night’s Pepperdine -2 points pick. That was a good win and three straight. Maybe this is the beginning of a good run for us with our college basketball picks. We talked about NCAA Hoops on Friday’s Phil Naessens Show and made picks for Friday Liberty-Iona & Michigan-UNLV contests.
Good luck today!
