Line Grinders Daily: The Lock of the Day!!

The Line Grinders Daily team is back for another day of sports betting action. Hit Friday’s Boston Red Sox moneyline free pick and handed out a tennis dog in our Slack chat ….as we head toward the end of June it’s time to lock, load and fire and I can’t wait for today’s betting card.

Transparency matters to us and you can track our Line Grinders Daily picks by following us at Betstamp.

Tweet of the Day

So much for the lock of the day….thankfully he didn’t charge us for that pick!

Pro sports bettors are usually fairly confident people but I’ve never heard any of them make such boasts or believe any such thing.

Your mileage may vary but I head for the exits whenever I see one of these folks touting “lock of the day”, “whale plays” or “cannot lose” picks.

A lock implies safety and playing a team total in a baseball game when the team in question is twenty-seventh in runs scored per contest was anything but safe, but I digress….

A “lock of the day” also implies knowing something no one else knows which in this case seems highly unlikely.

In some circles making false claims about a product is illegal; we certainly aren’t accusing Benny of anything other than being foolish but there’s no shortage of “Benny’s” selling picks based on false promises and that should be illegal.

Saturday MLB

Washington Nationals vs Texas Rangers

Texas is trying to shake a four-game losing streak when these sides meet for game two of a three-game set. Washington expects right-hander Josiah Gray to make the start while Texas plans for righty Matt Bush to take the hill this afternoon.

Gray hasn’t allowed an earned run over his past eleven innings but Washington wasted both starts and is 2-3 over their last five with Gray on the slab. Gray allows too many walks and far too many bombs to back on what will be an extremely hot and humid day. Meanwhile, Bush has made just three starts and is whiffing nearly a dozen hitters per nine innings pitched but averages just one inning per appearance. He allows nearly two bombs per nine innings with two earned runs over his last 3.1 innings of work.

Our play is Washington ML F5 +110. Gray has been good enough recently to trust against a Texas offense that sometimes has trouble scoring runs. Bush will likely open the game and make this one a bullpen game for Texas but over  the past week the Rangers pen has allowed 4.5 walks per nine innings and that might be problematic on a hot day in Arlington. Take Washington F5 +110 at Fanduel.
